How do i cope with boyfriends new baby?

my boyfriend %26amp; i have been dating for a few months. before we sarted dating he got another girl pregnant. he tried to make it work with her but just didnt work out. he has been involved in some aspects of her prgnancy but not as much as she wanted. she hates me cause i am dating him and we are very serious. the baby was just born and now im scared. he promises me i have nothing to worry about and i do believe him but i spent 17 yrs with an abusive, lying, cheating man. how do i cope with all this and trust him when i have trust issues? do i just need to relax and just take one day at a time? if so, how do i do it? I will be involved in this babys life as he is involved with my children. am i being childish or selfish? i feel that iam. any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. thank you.How do i cope with boyfriends new baby?
