Hi everyone, I have A Serious Question. And Looking for a few serious answers.
Well, Im 19 turning 20. In Highschool everything was great! I was always pretty happy and had fun. As soon as highschool was over a series of events happenned. I Didnt get into any of the schools i wanted to go to. All my friends went off to colleges while i said back here and worked fulltime going to community college. I wasnt happy. But i was able to cope. Shortly after that My ex girlfriend cheated on me and ran off with a lesbian guy looking chick. I didnt do anything mind you i am a really sweet person... After this event i entered this weird state of mind... Short of felt like i lost it ALL. She was the last straw i guess. So I then lost my job grades slipped got kicked out of school. And I have no friends. Its all weird to me because i used to be a really cool guy who got all the girls and had tons of fun. But now all i do is stay home for months at a time. Literally i dont even go out side. HELP ME.How Do I Beat The Mighty Depression?
All these things happen to all people, your not alone. Show your strength of character and pull yourself up. Don't you feel better already?
You are at a fork in the road of life. One direction awaits that great job, great love and your self esteem. The other direction holds the shroud of self loathing, unfulfilling relationships, and the stigma of a mediocre life.
I'm a total stranger, and I have faith in you.How Do I Beat The Mighty Depression?
sounds like you got your first taste of real ';grown up'; life, not as much fun as you thought it would be. don't let life get you down-';if you always do what you did,you'll always get what you got';
Depression is a very serious issue and coping with it can be hard but with a bit of help and understanding from those around you things will be OK. Counseling is not a bad idea in your situation, it doesn't help everyone but for most it works. Don't jump out of a window or drink yourself to death, you can beat the depression and return to school.
Try getting another job while getting counseling if you feel that the counseling will help you, then you can return to school, meet new friends and find a better girl. She wasn't worth it anyway if she could have broken your heart for a lesbian. If you can find another job and get back to school things will start getting better for you.
Good luck with everything and remember that depression effects a lot of people so there's always support groups you can attend also.
Soooo you plan on sitting around the house for the rest of your life?
Haven't you ever heard of the saying, ';If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.'; ?
Go back to school and find another job. You will find new friends. Join a group of your choosing, heck take pottery classes, volunteer at a homeless shelter, just do something.
Your so young and its so sad to me that you sound like you are giving up. You don't have to be the most popular guy you just have to have one or two really great friends. And as far as girls go, don't worry your young you'll find another gf. But, remember they aren't going to come and knock at your door sweetie.
The only way to get out of a depression is to get up and find and live life again. Because it becomes a vicious circle. Your depressed and don't feel like doing anything, your sick and tired of being sick and tired..its not going to go away on its own. Set up some goals and then go out and acheive them.
Start out small at first something you know you can accomplish so you don't get too discouraged and it will help build up self esteem, and then move on to the big stuff.
(Try cleaning your house/room and get everything organized. You'll feel better after its done..thats something small and easy to accomplish.)
Stop calling it ';mighty'; for starters - before you begin you're already making it out to be something ';mighty'; that is going to be difficult to overcome - don't play psychological tricks on yourself!
